the imagination
Hovering around us as we go through our day is something we desire that we cannot quite identify,
yet that fulfills us in an inexplicable way when we succeed in bringing ourselves in its vicinity.
It resides both in the air around us, and deep in the spaces of our imaginations,
moving agilely through its architecture, whispering, singing,
dancing, laughing, conversing with our mysteries,
just there, on the other side of what we know.

Something beyond knowledge is possible,
and indeed very plausible.’

DAVID BOHM

‘That is happiness…
to grasp and hold onto something ineffable, beautiful and eternal.
Millions seek it. Otherwise they feel lost, adrift
in a life without ultimate meaning.’

EDWARD O. WILSON

‘Music, states of happiness, mythology, faces belaboured by time,
certain twilights and certain places try to tell us something,
or have said something we should have missed, or are about to say something;
this imminence of a revelation which does not occur is, perhaps,
the aesthetic phenomenon.’

JORGE LUIS BORGES

‘This pure beauty that we call mathematical…
is something like a rumour or a longing that lingers in the person,
hinting at significance and depth. We go back to it time and time over.
It is beautiful, because it stays.’

DANIEL TAMMET

‘Today, many things indicate that we are going through a transitional period.
It is as if something were crumbling, decaying and exhausting itself,
while something else, still indistinct, were arising from the rubble.’

VACLAV HAVEL
